FAQs
We ship from our U.S. fulfillment partner in Florida, so most orders arrive within 2–5 business days anywhere in the continental U.S. Shipping is free, no minimum order. You'll get a tracking number as soon as your knife leaves the warehouse.
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee — if you're not happy with your knife, send it back for a full refund, no questions asked. Beyond that, we stand behind the craftsmanship of every blade we ship. If you ever have an issue with manufacturing or materials, just email us at support@damastshop.us and we'll make it right.
Most kitchen knives are made from a single piece of stainless steel, typically around 54 HRC hardness. Our blades use 67 layers of Damascus steel forged around a 60–62 HRC core — that's the kind of hardness you find in Japanese chef knives, but combined with the balance and weight of German design. The result: a knife that holds its edge 3–4× longer than standard stainless steel and feels substantial in your hand without being heavy.
Yes. Every blade in our collection is full tang — meaning the steel runs through the entire handle, secured with triple rivets. This gives you better balance, stronger durability, and the kind of weight in your hand that makes serious cutting effortless.
Damascus steel at 60–62 HRC is harder than typical Western knives, so a traditional steel honing rod isn't the right tool here. Instead, we recommend:
→ For touch-ups between sharpenings: our Diamond Sharpening Rod — the diamond coating actually works on hard Damascus steel, where steel rods would fail
→ For full sharpening every 6–12 months: a whetstone (1000/6000 grit minimum, 3000/9000 grit ideal for Damascus pattern retention)
Both are available in our Sharpening Collection — designed specifically for our SamuraEdge™ blades.
No — and please don't put them in. Our Damascus blades are hand-finished and the olive wood handles are natural materials. Both will last decades with proper care: wash by hand with warm water, dry immediately, and store in a knife block or magnetic strip. The dishwasher's heat, detergent, and water exposure will damage the steel and crack the wood.

A Message from the Founder
Hi, I’m Michael — craftsman from Germany and passionate home cook.
The first time I sliced a tomato with a real Damascus knife, everything changed. Effortless. Clean. Controlled.
That moment sparked an obsession with blade geometry, steel hardness, and what truly makes a knife exceptional.
What I discovered: most people have never used a truly sharp, well-crafted knife — not because they don’t care, but because no one ever showed them what’s possible.
That’s why I built Damastshop.
Real Damascus steel. Honest craftsmanship. Built to last.
